This Building
Needs to be Finished!!
The new
chapel was first announced at our 45th Anniversary in 1998 as our
newest and greatest project, and it seems it is time to complete this most
needed and most useful building. This was 9 years ago!
It is our policy to
"pay as we go" and to use as much voluntary help as possible. These
policies have made this a long-term project, but when it is finished, it
will be all paid for and will be well worth waiting for.
We had our special
Dedication of this new building on Saturday evening October 22, 2006, during
our Fall Retreat when the greatest number of camp friends are here during
the year. The evening included a "ribbon cutting", the President of
the Board of Directors (Dave Rainey) handing the keys to Bill White, Camp
Director, and then he and wife Vickie unlocking and holding doors open for
all to enter while singing the camp theme song, "God Can Do Anything But
Fail!"
We are most anxious
to get to use the building full-time and it is most definitely needed both for summer
camp use, and for weekend rent groups throughout the year. We still
need $20,000 and many volunteer man hours to complete the project.
Check out these pictures of the chapel construction!
